METAL PRE-TREATMENT PROCESS - PHOSPHATING

All the metals have a tendency to return to the form as oxides that they naturally exist. Hence, corrosion is a natural phenomenon. The purpose of the treatment is to provide protection against corrosion. Further, microcrystalline textures of metal surfaces are so very smooth that they normally support minimum adhesion to the metal surfaces. Treatment has another purpose that is to improve paint adhesion. There are various types of PHOSPHATING for different types of metals. The process even further varies with various applications of the same metal.

TREATMENT OF FERROUS SURFACES:

ALKALINE CLEANING
PHOSCLEAN 101 It is a heavy duty alkaline cleaner and it is designed for the degreasing of steel, iron, ferrous alloys and nickel. It attacks aluminum and its alloys and tinned or galvanized surfaces.
PHOSCLEAN 102 It is a powdered caustic free alkaline cleaner used for dip degreasing of steel, zinc and aluminum articles.
PHOSCLEAN 120L It is an alkaline liquid metal cleaner for dip degreasing and activating of steel, galvanized wire, aluminum articles.
PHOSCLEAN  122 It is a caustic free alkaline cleaner used for spray degreasing of steel, zinc and aluminum articles.
PHOSCLEAN 127 It is a liquid degreasing chemical used by spray or dip cum spray machine for cleaning ferrous or non-ferrous articles.
PHOSCLEAN 129 It is a liquid degreasing chemical used by hand spray gun for cleaning painted ferrous or non-ferrous articles. The process is ideally suitable for cleaning sub-assemblies and finished articles before applying final coat of finish paint.
PHOSCLEAN 130 It is a liquid degreasing chemical used by spray washing machine for cleaning ferrous or non-ferrous articles.

 

DERUSTING CHEMICAL
RUSTOKIK 163 It is a deruster. It can be used at room temperature or hot. It emits no fumes, when it is used. It is widely suggested as deruster to get best phosphate coating on metals.
RUSTOKIK 171 It is a product for dip derusting and descaling of iron and steel surfaces.

 

ACTIVATION CHEMICAL
CRYSTOFIX 317 It is a Titanium Complex in mild alkaline medium in powder form and used by dip or spray to prepare a solution for conditioning metal surfaces when denser, uniform and finely crystalline phosphate coatings are desired.

 

COLD DIP PHOSPHATING CHEMICAL
PHOSCHEM 198 It is a zinc phosphating chemical used by immersion process at ambient temperature. It produces a smooth, compact, uniform coating on steel and zinc surfaces.
PHOSCHEM 213 It is a zinc phosphating chemical used by immersion process at ambient temperature. It produces a smooth, compact, uniform coating on steel and zinc surfaces.

 

HOT DIP PHOSPHATING CHEMICAL
PHOSCHEM 191 It is an accelerated hot dip process and is designed to produce a smooth zinc–calcium phosphate coating on steel and zinc surfaces. The phosphate coating is highly resistant to corrosion and produces an excellent base for subsequent painting, oiling or staining.
PHOSCHEM 192 It is an accelerated hot dip process and is designed to produce smooth zinc / zinc – iron phosphate coating on steel and zinc surfaces. The phosphate coating is highly resistant to corrosion and produces an excellent base for subsequent painting, oiling or staining.
PHOSCHEM 193 It is an accelerated hot dip process, which produces medium to heavy zinc-iron phosphate coatings on iron and steel surfaces.
PHOSCHEM 196 It is an accelerated hot dip process by which a heavy manganese – iron phosphate coating is produced on iron and steel parts.
PHOSCHEM 197 It is an accelerated dip phosphating chemical for mild steel. It produces an extra smooth, compact phosphate coating ideally suitable prior to conventional painting and powder coating.
PHOSCHEM 209 It is a zinc phosphating chemical used by immersion process at low temperature. It produces a smooth, compact, uniform coating on steel and zinc surfaces.
PHOSCHEM 1194 It is a self-accelerated single pack catalysed zinc phosphating chemical used to produce smooth dark grey phosphate coating over steel components. The corrosion resistant zinc phosphate coating is obtained without pre-dip in any activating solution. The built-in grain refining agent serves the purpose. It operates at low temperature without any regular accelerator addition and forms a compact and uniform grey zinc phosphate coating suitable for painting or Powder coating.

 

SPRAY PHOSPHATING CHEMICAL
PHOSCHEM 223 It is an accelerated zinc phosphating chemical developed for spray application on steel and zinc surfaces to produce a smooth, compact, corrosion-resistant and paint bonding coating. The fine-textured coating minimizes paint shrinkage, retains paint gloss and prevents rust creep under the damaged paint film.
PHOSCHEM 229 It is an accelerated phosphating chemical developed for spray application on steel, G.I. and Zinc and Aluminum surfaces to produce an extra smooth, compact, corrosion-resistant and paint bonding phosphate coating which suitable prior to electrophoretic paint and “Powder” coating. When used under conventional paint it minimizes paint shrinkage, retains paint gloss and prevents rust creep.

 

WIRE DRAWING PHOSPHATING CHEMICAL
PHOSCHEM 233 It is a single pack chlorate accelerated zinc phosphating chemical ideally suitable for producing phosphate coating on different type of steels to facilitate cold mechanical deformation. It can be used for wire and tube drawing, cold heading, nosing etc.
PHOSCHEM 234 It is a single pack chlorate-nitrate  accelerated zinc phosphating chemical ideally suited for quick and uniform phosphating of different type of steel wires even when several strands of it are simultaneously run through the bath.
PHOSCHEM 236 It is an accelerated hot dip process for producing a zinc phosphate coating on steel to facilitate cold mechanical deformation.

 

IRON PHOSPHATE PHOSPHATING CHEMICAL
RUSTOKIK 165 It is a cleaner for iron and aluminum. It cleans oil, grease and rust from the surface and produces a thin coating of phosphate on the surface, suitable for paint and Sealkote 368 application.
RUSTOKIK 169   It is a cleaner for iron and aluminum. It cleans rust from ferrous metals and produces a thin coating of phosphate on the surface, suitable for paint application. It also removes white rust from aluminum surface prior to subsequent treatment.
PHOSCHEM 228 It is a spray degreasing cum phosphating chemical, which simultaneously degreases and produces a very light weight iron phosphate coating on steel surface.
 PHOSCHEM 1195 It is a self-accelerated phosphating chemical for immersion application over steel and zinc surfaces. The process produces a non-metallic phosphate coating which increases the adhesion and durability of paint finishes without pre-dip in any activating solution.

 

PASSIVATION CHEMICAL
PHOSBOND 306

It is hexavalent chromium based product used in the final rinse after pretreatment either by immersion or spray process.

PHOSBOND 312

It is an alkaline passivating chemical free from chromium and phosphate. This is used in the final rinse by dip or spray after phosphating of iron and steel articles. It improves corrosion resistance properties of dried phosphated surfaces and reduces the risk of paint blistering under humid conditions.

PHOSCLEAN 102 It is a powdered caustic free alkaline cleaner used for dip degreasing of steel, zinc and aluminum articles.
PHOSCLEAN 120L It is an alkaline liquid metal cleaner for dip degreasing and activating of steel, galvanized wire, aluminum articles.
PHOSCLEAN 1104 It is a specially designed powdered alkaline cleaner used for dip degreasing of G.I., zinc and aluminum articles.

 

DESMUTING CHEMICAL
RUSTOKIK  176   It is a strongly acidic solution used for dip cleaning of aluminium surfaces containing corrosion products and oxide layers.
RUSTOKIK  178 It is a strongly acidic solution used for dip cleaning of aluminum and aluminum alloy surfaces containing corrosion products and oxide layers.  

 

CHROMATING CHEMICAL
ALIBOND  279 This process is designed for the treatment of aluminum and its alloys by dip. It produces a golden oxide-chromate coating on the surface, which provides protection against corrosion, and also serves as a good base for subsequent painting / organic coatings.
ALIBOND  281 This process is designed for the treatment of aluminum and its alloys by dip. It produces a golden / rainbow   oxide-chromate coating on the surface, which provides protection against corrosion, and also serves as a good base for subsequent painting.  

 

PHOSPHATING CHEMICAL

It is a phosphoric acid containing 2 in 1 chemical for treatment of aluminum and aluminum alloy surfaces. It removes oil, grease and dirt from the metal substrate and produces a thin phosphate coating on the surface, suitable for paint application or Powder coating.

It is an immersion process for coating stainless steel and many high –nickel-low-iron    alloys to produce an adsorptive complex coating that is chemically bonded to the pickled and activated metal surface and provides an ideal bond for the appropriate final coating.

MICROBOND

It is a process designed with the nanoscale technology to increase adhesion and corrosion resistance of painted metal surfaces by producing a film enriched with tetravalent cations in form of thin organo-metallic complex over iron, zinc and aluminum surfaces at ambient temperature. It can replace conventional hot or cold zinc or zinc-calcium phosphate coatings prior to painting/Powder coating.
